Montana Guide School: Safety and Student Conduct
Students and others safety is the most important part of the courses. It is important to us that you keep yourself safe as well as the other students and the instructors or any other person you encounter while participating in this course.
Any student who willfully or irresponsibly causes another person (student, instructor or any other person) or the livestock in harms way may be immediately dismissed by the instructor or school administrator.
To be a successful guide or packer you must always practice safe handling of livestock and people, you will also be expected in this course and in your working career to act maturely, respectful to all living beings. A student may be dismissed if unruly or abusive to any student, instructor any other persons or livestock.
The school reserves the right of sole judgment regarding inappropriate or unsafe behavior which may be detrimental to the school. Other grounds for dismissal include but are not limited to:
1. Fighting
2. Intentional disruption of school activities
3. Stealing, falsifying records, dishonesty or cheating
4. Unauthorized use or entry of school property
5. Theft or damage to school property or equipment
6. Physical abuse or sexual harassment of any person on school premises
7. Threatening or endangering the health or safety of any person on school premises
8. Endangering any livestock
9. Use of intoxicating liquors and or drugs on school premises or in the wilderness
10. Use of drugs
11. Immoral, unprofessional, or unlawful conduct.
12. Excessive absenteeism or tardiness
Any student dismissed will not receive a refund of any kind and WILL NOT be allowed to re-enter the course or school.
