Chinese Wall Trip

The Chinese Wall trip is very popular. There will be three campsites, meaning we will move camp three times. The trip usually begins with an 18 mile ride to the Northfork of the Sun River. You will ride along all three forks of the Sun River.

First along the South Fork of the Sun River where we head to the West Fork and Pretty Prairie. The last 6 miles are along the North Fork of the Sun to our campsite. This camp is very scenic and offers excellent Montana fly fishing. A small trip can be taken to Elk Hill on your layover day and there is a great swimming hole in the river.

The second camp site is at Moose Creek which is right under the wall, this is an all day ride to get to the next spot with stunning views as we approach the camp. The next day can be spent hiking a game trail to explore the top of “the wall” it will take your breathe away! The last camp spot is another all day ride to the West Fork of the Sun River where we are again camped near the river usually on the edge of a meadow in the beautiful aspen trees. The layover day weather permitting will be a day to ride up Prairie Reef….an awesome site where you can see for miles. This lookout is usually manned. You might see elk, deer or bears on this ride, you will never forget the scenery!
