5 Things We’re Celebrating in 2020

2020. What a year.

As we sit and reflect on the last 12 months and the whirlwind that 2020 has been, there are several things that are worthy of celebration. And while it seems that the world was spinning out of control at moments, it was also a year filled with so much good, including neighbors helping neighbors, plenty of time spent in Montana’s backcountry and the ability to spend quality time with the ones we love.

With that in mind, here are five things we’re celebrating in 2020.

1. Bryar earned his machining degree this past spring.

A lover of learning, Bryar earned his Computer Aided Manufacturing (machining degree) from Helena College this past spring. (He also has degrees in welding and metals technology.) And while Bryar spends lots of time with us in the Bob Marshall Wilderness, he doesn’t make it on every trip for a very good reason. In the spring and summer, he’s responsible for farming our property up on the bench between Augusta and Fairfield. His work and commitment to this means we’re able to keep our stock fed year-round.

2. Turk started a breeding program.

One of Turk’s long-terms goals has been to develop a breeding program. This goal of his is officially on its way to being met with his recent acquisition of the cutest girl we’ve ever seen, Piper. We are all already madly in love with her and think she’s the sweetest thing ever. We’re also looking forward to the coming years of this breeding program and the work and thought that Turk is putting into it.

3. Our first season at the lodge.

You might remember that early last spring we announced that we were going to start offering lodge hunts 30 minutes from our home base in Augusta, Montana. We had a great first season at the lodge and are taking bookings for 2021, while also looking forward to what is to come at this beautiful property in the mountains of Montana.

4. Lester’s first year in The Bob.

In February, we added a puppy to our crew. Lester is spunky, lovey and sassy and did so well on the first season of many to come in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. If you’ve gone on a trip with us, have seen us in person or follow us on Facebook and Instagram, you know our pack of dogs (which we call The Blue Crew) are a large part of our operation and we were delighted to add Lester to our family.

5. A NEW digital reservation system.

While Amy is so proud of Bryar and Turk (and of course Lester), she is equally excited about the recent rollout of our new digital reservation system. This is already helping to streamline our booking process and guests will no longer have to fill out paper forms and mail them back, as the new system allows us to communicate everything electronically.

From our family to yours, wishing you joy, happiness and more in 2021.
